Bode is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, with experience spanning over 30 years in various organizations including Pricewaterhouse (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers), Nigeria International Bank (Now Citibank N.A.) and Agusto and Co. Limited. At Pricewaterhouse, Bode was Partner in charge of the Financial Services Industry before leaving to set up Agusto and Co. Limited (the first credit rating agency in Nigeria).

He has held various public positions including Director of the National Pension Commission, Member of the Central Bank of Nigeria Monetary Policy Committee and Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation. He is currently a Director in Guarantee Trust Bank Plc.

Bode is on the faculty of the Lagos Business School at Pan African University and holds the Nigerian National Honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
